The Beatles

THE HELEN SHAPIRO TOUR, 1963
This tour saw The Beatles playing second fiddle to Helen Shapiro, backing her up with other support acts - Danny Williams, Kenny Lynch, The Honeys, The Kestrels and The Red Price Band. All of the shows were compered by Dave Allen. Ringo had only been a Beatle for a few months, and was still settling in. He said: “I was still the odd one out, the new boy. But the togetherness of this tour helped a lot. At first I worried about who I'd share with at the hotels, but mostly it was me in with Paul, and John and George sharing another room.”
